Fender v
ents
. And while I have you here, w
hen did it become acceptable for these vents to end at the door cut line? #TRIGGERED
Floating r oof . In theory a nice design touch but almost always ends up looking busy.
Full width r
ear light bar.
Enough
already.
They’ve given it a fighting chance. It could age well.

No DLO fail, either. This could be an interesting product - funny/fun design not slathered with lazy cliches.

It is a nicely understated design. Kind of reminds me of a better proportioned first gen Panamera .

German stank?

Also black cladding in the wheel arches, my personal pet peeve on lifted wagons.

Looks nice, t he chrome treatment from the C-pillar beyond is a bit weird though.

They did go for the full-fake vent rear bumper à la Civic, though Apart from that the rear really reminds me of a Macan.

Funny you
mention Porsche. The
slope of the upper
hatch is very similar
to
the p

.
Not a bad thing,
IMO

Hadn’t given it
thought,
but n
ow that you mention it.

Yep, t here’s some Bentley Bottega in the hips.

Also that. Lights are pretty dang similar too.

They didn’t use black cladding on
the sills to reduce the
height of the vehicle
either
. T
he black line lower on
the door accomplishes the same thing. I
like the way it trails off over the rear door.

Meh, another boring jelly-bean blob. I betcha that if you lined up 10 of these from different manufacturers and removed all of the badges, most random jagoffs would not be able to tell them apart.
I am now bored after imagining that.

DLO?

I agree. The chrome on the bottom of the rear window must be to reduce the appearance of
bulk. Not sure they had to though. I can’t see o
ne swo
op of chrome the length of the roof being a bad thing
.

I don’t mind the fake vents as much as the placement and size of the exhaust outlets. Macan? See my other reply. :-)

Genesis’ styling crew is doing some solid work. It’s rare for a mainstream brand (albeit premium) to introduce a completely unique styling language these days. I don’t have to like it, but I can appreciate it for having an identity.

It’s got more than a fighting chance. Your guide to being successful with crossovers in the US;
1) Make car
2) Collect money
They’ve clearly made an effort here, but truthfully they didn’t really have to.

That is nice looking

My favorite bit
is the cab-
back stance. In this regard it’s not dissimilar to the Aston DBX
.

Oh I’m sure they have been spying on everyone. So far Genesis has been pretty good at making nice looking vehicles without a bunch of ugly gimmicks. The last auto show I did had a separate Genesis booth and I checked it out, I know everyone who works on the shows so I can easily go over and sit in things without people getting upset.

I don't like the c pillar treatment, it would look better if it was black.

wheels look horrid though

I do really like it but would probably go for the g70 still, I've started seeing the new g90's around and they do look great in person, I was put off by the reveal and online pics.

Something they brought from their electric offerings but does not work here .

I don’t mind the pillar
but I’m
on the fence when it comes to the path the chrome takes
.
